Lace is an open work usually a figured fabric made of thread
or yarn and used for trim, household coverings, and entire
projects.
There are many different types of Lace such as:
1) Battenburg
- This type of lace is made by stitching a strip of linen
fabric into a pattern of loops, then connecting them with
thread.
2) Chantilly - Flowers & ribbons on a plain net
background define this lace, it is usually edged with fine
cording.
3) Eyelet - Lace which is usually made of cotton
featuring perforated holes embroidered around the edges.
4) Schiffli - A lightweight lace with an all-over
embroidered design on a net background.
